The Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has released the preliminary timetable for the 2025 Class X and XII public exams in Panaji. The schedule indicates that the Class XII exams are anticipated to take place from February 1 to February 15, 2025, while the Class X exams are scheduled for March 1 to March 20 of the same year. The board has decided to move the exam schedule earlier by approximately 28 days for 2025 due to concerns about rising temperatures caused by global warming. This decision was announced earlier in the year. The chairperson of the Goa board, Bhagirath Shetye, mentioned that some students experienced discomfort during the 2024 exams due to heat. Starting from 2025, all exams for students will be finished before March 31, and result announcements will be completed by the end of April. The adjustment in schedule was made as a precautionary measure following instances of students fainting or displaying symptoms such as vomiting, which were not directly attributable to heat. The revised timetable aligns with national timelines and is in harmony with the schedules of other central and state boards.
